While I saw delicious looking platters going out the door, we only got crabs. They were very small for the price and they said they were from VA. If you are looking for #1,2 and 3, local crabs, Port Penn Bait and Tackle is the closest place. Nothing else-no platters. Wiso's crabs were good but beware their sizing isn't by numbers, check the examples they have on display, I didn't notice until after we ordered. Sorry we didn't get platters instead. There's an interesting museum and lot's of history.
Tucked along the canal on the edge of Delaware City, you'll find some of the freshest seafood you can get. You can feel the love in every bushel that goes out the door. Great lunches and plentiful dinner specials to please every taste bud.
A hidden gem on the Delaware River, locals and seasoned beach goers traveling down Rt 9 have known about Wiso's for generations.
Wiso's is the real deal for takeout been there forever, have their own boats. Downside they are kind of out of the way. On this occasion we were told on the phone they were out of jumbo but had extra large and placed an order. When we got there what we got was medium, large at best. Will not return in fairness they were yummy and super fresh.
Best, local crab and seafood spot. You can buy it raw or have it cooked to take or eat in. Reasonable prices and friendly owners and staff. Family owned and operated!
I absolutely love this place. Don't expect a restaurant, they only have picnic tables outside. But God, the food is sooo good! Closed in wine time.
